Judging Process
After the entry deadline the entries are divided into two groups, independent and multiple and judged using difference processes. Each category has its own set of criteria which is listed in the entry form so to make sure that you have the best chance of winning make sure that you read this carefully prior to entering.
Multiple Categories
During the summer the Off Licence News team assemble an academy of top industry representatives and journalists who agree to take part and judge each entry. On the close of entries each judge is then sent his/her individual pack of entries and they are asked to submit a 1st 2nd and 3rd place entry for each category. The scores are then added up and verified by the Off Licence News team. Simply the entry with the most 1st place votes will be the winner.

Independent Categories
As these are so specialist it was felt by the team that these entries require a different judging process. Therefore on the close of entries the Off Licence News team do an initial judging to determine the initial shortlist in each independent category. Following this each retailer is visited by an independent judge in order to verify the standard of retailing. Once all the store visits are completed the judge then reports his findings back to a final judging panel where the winners are decided.
