Drinks Retailing Awards

Winners 2010

The Drinks Retailing Awards 2010 were announced at a glittering awards ceremony on Tuesday 2rd February 2010 at The Dorchester, Park Lane, London

Guests enjoyed a full evening of entertainment including comedy from the very funny Mr Milton Jones, the awards presented by Rosie Davenport and Olly Smith, drinks from our 5 sponsored bars and a disco to dance the night away!

2010 Winner Comments:

"Being shortlisted for the UK Independent Retailer of the Year Award was a triumph in the short life of Barrica Wines, so much so that before I left for the Awards bash, I ordered three 9 foot by 4 foot banners, heralding the fact that we were a finalist. A quick phone call after the results with instructions to amend one word, and within three days, I was literally shouting it from the rooftop!                                                                                     But the real difference that the award has made to Barrica, is that it has raised the profile of who, what and where we are with the consumer. We have had so many new customers who had no idea that we existed, or that we stocked such a comprehensive and diverse range of products. It's certainly helped our credibility with customers and suppliers alike - and that's no bad thing!"

Jane Cuthbertson, Owner, Barrica Wines                                                                                    Winner: Independent Wine Retailer of the Year 2010

"Our business sets a great example by winning awards so the Drinks Retailing Awards so the win was highly prized. We have been able to use this accolade in aisle, in point of sale and also in advertising, which really helps cement our position as a premium spirits retailer to customers.
We were all thrilled to receive this award as it recognises all the hard work which the team has put in over the last year to make our spirits department the best in the business.
I think the Drinks Retailing Awards is a very credible competition and one which Sainsbury's is proud to enter."
